I am still here...in the land of pictureless blogs

Well, I'd say I have been knitting a lot, but I'd be fibbing. I finished the socks. I've reorganized my yarn into 4 big plastic tubs...4...I couldn't believe it. I have 3 blankets in progress; one for my sister, one for my dad, and one for a baby...somewhere...I don't know...I think the person I originally intended it for has a child who is now 2...or so.

I have a lot of sock yarn...that I have no idea what to do with. I should try a pattern, but...then I worry I might run out or something...I don't really knit. I just like collecting the yarn so I can touch it and stare at it...I'm a little odd. You should see my Hello Kitty note paper collection. I have enough note paper to write my daughter a little note ever day for her lunch for the rest of her life. This is not to mention my collection of crafting for candles, soap, sewing, scrapbooking, card making, rubber stamps...yes...I am a walking craft store. Although I know people worse than myself.

***This is where it delves into other things besides knitting. More knitting below.***

Oh and you know what tickled me the most? This friend of mine that I've recently found insisted that I go ahead and knit something the other night when he came to visit. Not out of irratation or to get rid of me...he even listened to me blather on about yak yarn and the yarn I picked up from Estes Park. Then, he told me about how he has candle molds...I'm in love...talk wax to me baby. Wow.

Even better than that...I finally got to celebrate a birthday with someone of the opposite sex who I'm close to without them 1) getting pissy for having been born, 2) getting pissy because I remembered they had been born, 3) getting pissy because i didn't know what to get him because i wasn't listening (but in this case we hadn't talked about), 4) getting pissy because i got them something small and thoughtful...sense a pattern here? Wow, I got to celebrate someone else's birthday and they didn't get mad at me. That's nifty. He even gave me a hug and a thank you for just being nice enough to think about him.

***Knitting***

So I think for now I'm going to continue to work on finishing the blanket of never ending. What? It seemed like a good idea at the time to make a baby blanket out of sport weight yarn on a size I crochet hook.

Oh, you know the other thing I've been nosing around at...I want to find out what these "plant" fibers feel like. I know hemp is very twine like, but did you know they make yarn out of soy, bamboo, banana, and other items? Nifty.
